C Magazine presents Tania Willard: Site/ation
In partnership with Art Toronto
C Magazine is pleased to bring curator and artist Tania Willard: Site/ation, a lecture on the artist’s work with land-based conceptual space BUSH Gallery, to the PLATFORM stage at Art Toronto.
Using concepts of Indigenous epistemology, land rights and creative acts, the artist will discuss BUSH Gallery and other recent curatorial projects modelling the way gallery systems and art mediums can be transfigured, translated and transformed by Indigenous customs, aesthetics, performance and land use systems. Tania Willard, Secwepemc Nation, works within shifting ideas of the contemporary and the traditional as they relate to art and cultural production.
The talk is free with paid admission to Art Toronto. Site/ation is presented as part of the PLATFORM Speaker Series, Art Toronto’s original series of lectures and panel discussions from prominent art world figures.
Visit the C Magazine booth in the Publications section of the Art Toronto fair, and pick up our latest issue, C Magazine 135 “Voice,” an issue that diverges from the typical format to present artists and writers in their own words. “Voice” features seven interviews and conversations in lieu of the usual features and columns.
