Linnea Dick was born in 1991 in Vancouver, BC to parents, Pam Bevan and Beau Dick. She is of Kwakwaka’wakw, Nisga’a and Tsimshian heritage, and her First Nations ancestry has largely influenced her. She spent her early childhood in Alert Bay, later relocating to Vancouver. Between 2004 and 2005, Dick spent time experiencing Haida culture and tradition in Haida Gwaii. Her ambitions in life are to help people, focussing on youth. She recognizes poetry as a form of art, enjoying the self expression and relatability. Since 2014 she has established herself as an activist, motivational speaker and writer. She draws her inspiration from the communities she’s been in and people she’s met. She currently resides in Victoria and is working on her first book.
