Alia Hijaab is a multi-disciplinary artist with roots in Syria, Qatar, Virginia, and now the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Wau-tuth First Nations also known as Vancouver, BC. Alia received her bachelor’s degree in Animation from Emily Carr University of Art + Design and is now pursuing a Master in Library and Archival studies at the University of British Columbia. Alia meanders through various tangible and intangible practices that circle themes of belonging, storytelling, and remembering.
