Amy Fung speaks with Deanna Bowen about her auto-ethnographic approach in her art making and her focus on individual and collective authorship in racial histories. From light-hearted catching up to thoughtful pondering, they reflect upon their past and present experiences with racial trauma.

Sixteen writers each contribute to a collection of essays about an influential individual from the art world and culture at large.

In this article, the author reflects on art in the early twenty-century. Particular focus is given to her criticisms of community art programs and of art that is solely reflective of artists' own lives and experiences. Several art practices of the twenty-first century are also profiled including participation, institutional critique and meta-art. The installation “Instant Coffee Light Bar,” which took place in the Netherlands between 2009 and 2011 is also examined.

The article offers information on the art and culture-related project of the artists in Saskatchewan titled “Beginning of the End—End of the Beginning.” This will take place in Sakatchewan's three largest cities as well as rural sites throughout the province. This was the brainchild of Felipe Diaz, executive director of the Saskatchewan Filmpool Co-operative and interdisciplinary artist, Kim Morgan. According to the article, this project stems from the organizers' graduate days at the University of Regina. They say that this will not only be an international exhibit but a sustainable project for Saskatchewan that is being offered to the global art scene.
