Noa Bronstein

Noa Bronstein is a researcher and curator based in Toronto. Recent curatorial projects include THE ANNUAL (2012) at the Gladstone Hotel, where she was the Director of Exhibitions and Cultural Promotions, and Out of Sorts (2011) at the Design Exchange, where she was the Director of Public Programs and an Acting Curator. Upcoming curatorial projects include Memories of the Future, co–curated with Katherine Dennis, at Gibson House Museum and Data Mine in Gallery 44’s vitrines, both opening September 2014. Noa is currently the Head of Exhibitions and Publications at Gallery 44 Centre for Contemporary Photography.

Taking it Slow: Duration and Intimacy in Olivia Boudreau's Le Bain and L'Étuve

Stillness, silence and the body are explored in this feature, as found in the work of Olivia Boudreau. Noa Bronstein focuses on Boudreau’s videos Le Bain and L‘étuve, which consist of slow-moving, intimate shots of bathers and sauna attendees, respectively. This slow duration is considered for its relation to the intimate, ritualistic practice of bathing and the depiction of these everyday environments.
