We are excited to announce the new Design Director of C Magazine, Hwa-Jin Jun.

Jun is a graphic designer born in the year of the dog. At her core, she is a tenacious explorer and constant learner. Her unabashed curiosity and unconventional style translate to a practice involving interactive digital experiences, process-driven, collage-like designs. Jun began at C as Design Intern in the summer of 2023, working with former Design Director Raf Rennie on issues C155 and C156. "We appreciate the playful flair Hwa-Jin brings to her work and presence," says C Editor Joy Xiang. "We are thrilled to see what visual possibilities she will bring to the magazine in her new role."

As an award-winning designer, Jun brings a range of experience. Her clients in the cultural sector include AZURE Magazine, Khalil Gibran Collective, OCAD U, and Xpace Cultural Centre, before which she worked in pharmaceutical advertising. Jun holds two silver medals from the Indigo Design Awards (2023) and successfully created DesignTO Festival's 2023 look, earning a bronze medal from the GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN.

Jun holds a BSc from Queen’s University, and a BA in Graphic Design from OCADU. Her scientific education, inquisitive nature, and a lifelong love of making weave together to form her unique perspective on design. Jun looks forward to contributing her imaginative spirit to the investigative platform that is C Magazine, and thanks the C Mag team for their trust and support in this collective new journey.
