The Board of Directors of C The Visual Arts Foundation is pleased to announce Jonathan Middleton as the Interim Executive Director and Publisher of C Magazine. Jonathan steps into the role during the hiring process and will ensure the strategic management of the organization, overseeing daily operations until a permanent Executive Director and Publisher is established.

Jonathan Middleton is an artist, curator, and publisher based between Toronto and Vancouver. He brings over 25 years of experience in art non-profits to his work at C), and has served in curatorial and directorial positions at the Western Front (1999-2005), Or Gallery (2007-2017), and Art Metropole (2019-2024). Middleton was a founding editorial board member and first publisher (2004-2008) of Fillip, a Vancouver-based publishing organization that began as a broadsheet periodical focused on long-form exhibition and publication reviews. He was instrumental in establishing Information Office (Vancouver) as an active art book publisher, and his time at Toronto’s Art Metropole was marked by substantial growth to their publishing and distribution programs. Most recently, he co-organized the 2024 Vancouver Art Book Fair and Symposium.
