Christopher Brayshaw reviews Peter’s Doig’s works at Morris and Helen Belkin Gallery in Vancouver. The exhibitions comprises of Doig’s loose and gestural paintings, the content of which is secondary to the treatment of the paint. Brayshaw suggests that Doig’s technique is rife with subliminal traces of visual culture, including photography, horror films, and concert posters.
