The article features an interview with Toronto artist Luis Jacob and his installations for documenta 12: Album III (2004) and A Dance for Those of Us Whose Hearts Have Turned to Ice, Based on the Choreography of Francoise Sullivan and the Sculpture of Barbara Hepworth (With Sign-Language Supplement) (2007). They discuss the themes of documenta 12: modernity and its current relevance, the idea of human openness and vulnerability to care and abuse, and issues of education.
