This article discusses the sculptures, videos and photographs of artist Kristan Horton. The author discusses the use of amaterurism and subpar craftsmanship in Horton’s artistic practice. Works discussed include his self-produced artist’s book Oracle; Dr. Strangelove Dr. Strangelove (2004), a photographic homage to Stanley Kubric’s 1964 film; and Cig2Coke2Tin2Coff2Milk2 (2006), a stop-motion animation.
